Director Finance

Festanstellung, Vollzeit · Tutzing, Metropolregion München, München

Position Overview:
This is a vacancy for a primarily on-site (3-4 days/week) role at our HQ in Tutzing. We encourage applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of gender identity.

As a software company owned by a professional private equity fund, we are in a dynamic growth and value-creation phase. We are seeking an experienced Director Finance (m/f/x) to join our Finance department. This department is responsible for financial steering, controlling, reporting, planning, and supporting strategic value creation initiatives together with our PE owner and management team.
In this role, you will work closely with the CFO as their “right hand” and sparring partner. You will be responsible for driving core finance processes, building and improving our finance infrastructure, and working hands-on with the business to jointly create value. To enable this close collaboration, we expect a regular on-site presence in Tutzing.

Ready to make an impact?
You’ll get to take ownership of:
  • Acting as the primary sparring partner to the CFO on all key finance topics (planning, reporting, financing, value creation).
  • Leading and further developing core finance processes (budgeting, forecasting, monthly and quarterly closing, group reporting, cash management).
  • Preparing high-quality financial analyses, board/CFO decision papers, and PE shareholder reports, including KPI dashboards and performance reviews.
  • Driving the further professionalisation and digitalisation of our finance landscape (systems, tools, processes, internal controls) in a scaling software environment.
  • Supporting and challenging business leaders (Sales, Product, Operations, etc.) with data-driven insights, business cases and investment calculations.
  • Coordinating and consolidating group-wide planning (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow) and monitoring performance versus plan, including variance analyses and action plans.
  • Managing and coordinating external stakeholders such as auditors, tax advisors, and banks.
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and internal guidelines in close alignment with the CFO.
  • Acting as a visible, hands-on presence in the business, building strong relationships across departments and promoting a performance- and value-creation-oriented culture.
We’d love to meet someone with:
  • 7+ years of experience in Finance/Controlling, Corporate Finance or Transaction Services, ideally with exposure to software/SaaS or other recurring-revenue business models; experience in a PE-backed environment is a plus.
  • Several years of experience in a senior finance role (e.g. Senior Controller, Head of Controlling, Director Finance, FP&A Lead) with direct exposure to C-level and/or investors.
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights and clear recommendations for management and owners.
  • Solid knowledge of financial planning & analysis, group reporting, KPI and performance management, and cash flow/working capital management.
  • Experience with building or optimising finance processes and systems in a growth or transformation environment (e.g. ERP, BI, consolidation, tools).
  • Hands-on mentality and willingness to dive into details while keeping a clear view of the big picture and strategic priorities.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to challenge and support business leaders as a trusted partner.
  • High level of ownership, reliability and discretion, combined with the ambition to shape a PE-backed value-creation journey together with the CFO.
  • Proficiency in English and German.
  • Willingness and ability to be regularly present on-site at our HQ in Tutzing to work closely with the CFO and business teams.
You can look forward to:
  • A modern, spacious office with a view of Lake Starnberg in Tutzing
  • Subsidised lunches in our in-house restaurant
  • A personal learning and development budget
  • 30 vacation days per year
  • Up to 20 days of remote work per year from any EU country
  • Bike leasing through our partnership with JobRad
  • Opportunity to work flexibly from home
  • Team evenings every Thursday with refreshments covered by the company
  • A company pension plan (bAV)
