We are seeking a Team Lead People Operations (m/f/x) to join our People & Culture team, reporting to the Chief People Officer. In this player-coach role, you'll lead a small team of three while staying hands-on with the work yourself. You'll build the foundational infrastructure for a smooth, scalable employee experience, optimize our HR systems and data, and partner closely with our People Business Partners and cross-functional teams. 

This role is perfect for someone who loves getting into the details, is excited about leveraging data and AI to improve processes, and wants to build something great from the ground up.

You’ll get to take ownership of:

• Coaching and developing a team of 3 while staying hands-on with operational work yourself; fostering a collaborative, high-performing team culture.
• Building and optimizing our foundational People Ops infrastructure - from employee lifecycle processes (onboarding, changes, exits) to compliance frameworks and smooth execution across multiple countries.
• Overseeing multi-country payroll preparation with external providers and managing employee benefit programs across regions in partnership with Finance.
• Driving data quality, system optimization, and automation in Personio; building dashboards and exploring AI solutions to streamline workflows and scale efficiently.
• Partnering closely with People Business Partners to enable them with accurate data, smooth processes, and responsive operational support.
• Collaborating with Finance, Legal, IT, and Sales Ops to align processes and solve cross-functional challenges.
• Ensuring compliance with German and European labor law while continuously improving how we work - identifying painpoints, testing solutions, and rolling out improvements.

We’d love to meet someone with:

• Strong communication skills in German and English (other languages are a plus).
• Extensive HR/People Operations experience in fast-paced, international environments, with proven team coordination or lead experience.
• Deep knowledge of German labor law and compliance; familiarity with other European markets (NL, FR, UK) is a bonus.
• Solid hands-on experience with payroll preparation, managing external payroll providers, and benefit administration.
• Strong expertise in HRIS systems - Personio experience strongly preferred - and genuine excitement about using data and technology to improve HR.
• A player-coach mentality: You're comfortable leading and coaching others while rolling up your sleeves and doing the work yourself.
• Curiosity about AI, automation, and new tools - you're excited to experiment and build smarter ways of working.
• Strong process-building skills with a service-oriented mindset focused on delivering smooth, user-friendly experiences.
• Detail-oriented, structured, and pragmatic - you know when to optimize and when to move fast.
